Fallas celebrate their official beginning the night of “la plantà”, which takes place the 15th of March at midnight. But this year it will include a novelty: a “chupinazo” at the same time done by the Fallas commissions.
The initiative has been proposed by the Na Jornada’s Fallas Commission, with which they were trying to recover a tradition celebrated during 1966 and 1967, known as “l’alba de la Falla”. On this night, the commissions prepared a little pyrotechnical show to start the “plantà”.
Las Provincias Newspaper brings us its own copy of 1966 in which “la nit de l’alba” was announced.
Now, this tradition has been renamed as “la nit de l’alba”, and to could carry out it, a pyrotechnical company will deliver to the Fallas commissions some firecrackers to could join the “chupinazo”. The beginning of the “la nit de l’alba” will be marked by the City Town Hall, throwing four firecrackers from strategic points as a warning signal.
Junta Central Fallera has been highly receptive to the proposal and finally has decided to include it as a one more act inside the Fallas 2016’ programme.
This year, Fallas looks promising! You cannot miss it!
